    Have held a full driver’s licence in any Australian state or territory for the following time period:

    Victoria – Australian Licence (6 months)

    New South Wales – Australian Licence (within the last 12/24 months)

    Queensland – Australian Licence (1 year)

    Western Australia – Australian Licence (1 year)

    Australian Capital Territory – Australian Licence (no time limit)

    South Australia – Australian Licence (6 months)

    Hold a valid full driver’s licence in your state or territory

    You need to hold a full drivers licence in the state or territory where you want to drive with Uber. You cannot be on your probationary plates or learners place.

    For example, if you hold a New South Wales driver’s licence and would like to become an Uber driver in Melbourne, you will need to transfer your NSW driver’s licence to Victoria. This process is usually free and is easy and painless to do.
