Uber Australia announced that all new cars signed up after 1 October 2019 will need to have a 5-star ANCAP safety rating (Australasian New Car Assessment Program).
This is a great win for passengers who will have the benefit of riding in 5-star safety-rated car. But how will this affect your work as a driver?
Here’s what you need to know
- Drivers signing up to Uber from October 2019 will need to have a car that is less than 10 years old and has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating
- Uber Comfort cars must be less than 7 years old at the moment of signing up, while Uber Premier cars must be less than 6 years old
- Drivers already signed up to Uber should switch to a 5-star-rated car
The safety of our customers and passengers is our number-one priority at Splend, so we always select the safest models for our fleet. All cars available on our Flexi and Flexi own plans have a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.
